We're starting to wonder if there are other teams in the ECHL besides Las Vegas and Idaho. (We guess there's the Bakersfield Michael Jacksons...) From the Grizzlies' point of view, if they have to pick one, it would probably be Las Vegas, since that's who two of their wins were against. Unfortunately, they don't get to choose, and they play Idaho tonight. Idaho is responsible for both of the Grizzlies' losses this season. (They have one more win over the MJs to put their record at 3-2 so far.)
The Grizzlies have been on an offensive streak lately, and by that we mean scoring goals. They have averaged five goals per game so far this season. However, the ISH have only allowed two goals per game or less in five of their eight games played. (One of those games was the Grizzlies' home opener.) They also have yet to lose a game.
We say they're about due.
You may remember last time these two teams met up that Idaho's goaltender Rejean Beauchemin was the ECHL Goaltender of the Week. Well, he got called up to the AHL. We were glad to hear that... for a couple of days. But guess who was last week's Goaltender of the Week? If you said ISH rookie goalie Richard Bachman, you'd be right. Really, what are the odds, and where can we get some? Seriously, we can't complain as both O'Keefe and Van Buskirk have been great in net for the Grizzlies. They just haven't been the ECHL Goaltender of the Week. Yet.
Just for the record, they're always goaltender of the week in our book.

While Idaho may have more recognized goaltending, they've still never scored more than five goals in a game. In all three of the Grizzlies' wins so far this season, the fewest goals they've scored is five. So while they may be unbeaten so far, we know that all the ISH really want is to be like the Grizzlies.
Sorry, you're still just a bear-shaped potato.
If you haven't got your tickets already, hurry down to the E-Center. Game time is 7:05 pm. You can also listen or watch online. Details are on the Utah Grizzlies official website.
Enough potato jokes already.
Go Grizzlies!
