Thank you, Veterans!

Everyone knows a veteran, take a minute or two to thank them, or at least think about what they mean to you.

Ok, sentimental rant over.

Make your plans now! Next weekend when the Grizzlies return home for a few games you can buy unlimited tickets to the game on Friday (November 19th) for only $5 if you have a receipt from Maverik. These aren't the super high seats, either. The price is for the best available seats. That's a pretty good deal. Wouldn't it be great if we all invited 2 or 3 or 10 friends to come and enjoy a night out? Let's pack the arena, folks!

That's not all for the weekend, either. The next night everyone is encouraged to bring teddy bears to throw onto the ice after the Grizz score their first goal. That's right! We are actually being encouraged to throw something on the ice. The bears will be donated to Primary Children's Medical Center when the teams makes a pre-Christmas visit. Let's support our hockey team and give some love to the kids at PCMC. They need lots of love to get better and to be strong through their illnesses. Plus the staff there is great!

Show an active military ID for Saturday night's game and get the best available seats for $5.

Going on with the military theme, there are many, many examples of the hockey world honoring those who serve the United States. The Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks wore camo-style prints for warm ups yesterday. Chicago also honored a few heroes before the National Anthem. Bobby Ryan of the Ducks has promised to donate $100 for every goal he scores for the rest of the regular season to Operation Homefront. This group assists military families during hard times, especially while recovering from injury with many different needs. The NHL has compiled a long list of things that have happened this week, or that are doing on today. The link is included at the post of this post.

Votes have been tallied and the ECHL has complied its All-Decade team for the past decade. Two former Grizzlies, Barret Ehgoetz and Chad Starling, made the list. They may have only been here for a season or less, but it still makes them family in the great world of hockey. Congratulations to these two players!

Remember the giant NHL contract that was denied at the beginning of the season, but then the same team and player signed another huge contract, anyway? Here is what that player did last night during a shoot out. What a way to let the other team win.
