But let's talk about the Grizzlies' amazing 3rd period. Utah did a great job on the forecheck, rarely letting Ontario out of their own end for a good portion of the final frame; the Reign weren't even allowed a shot on goal until 7 minutes into the period. This is the kind of play we'd like to see on home ice. And while we realize that defending a 1 goal lead is an entirely different level of desperation than defending a 3 goal lead, we now know that the boys can do it.
Good job to Ferguson and the boys on the power play for the first and only goal of the game.
We do have to shine on Ontario and former Grizzlies goaltender Beau Erickson for his stunning performance in this game. His reward? A broken down car in the Maverik Center parking lot.
We love this dude. (Crappy screengrab is crappy, but if you watch the B2, you'll know who we mean.)
Brad Snetsinger on the kiss cam - brilliant. Brad's mauling of the player next to him takes the cake on players on the kiss cam. Go Brad.
Stars of the Game -

2. UTA - S. Ferguson
